This is a stunning and rather unique Victorian Bangle. Crafted from plated 9ct Gold with a warm, slightly rosy hue, it features a wonderful display of engraved ivy leaves on its face. Romantic symbolism in the Victorian/Edwardian era had ivy leaves representing everlasting love and were sometimes illustrative as the phrase 'cling to thee'.
This hinged bangle measures approximately a 6 - 6.5 inch wrist, and has a metal width of 8mm. It has a firm clasp which clicks shut securely and has the added benefit of a safety chain. It weighs a healthy and comfortable 25.7g
This fabulous piece of history would make a great statement on it's own or as part of a wrist stack. It remains in excellent condition, with only light signs of use and a mark left from the material having been tested for gold content. Although it is plated the exquisite condition of this bangle is testiment of the workmanship of years gone by and shows almost no tarnishing at all despite its creation over 100 years ago.
